New G1 phone

This is my first post from my new G1 phone. So far the blogger application for the phone is pretty simple but it might improve with time.

The year of the OX (1)

Today I learned that this is the year of the OX (1/26/2009 - 2/13/2010) and I am an OX! More specifically I am a WATER Ox.

I will be learning and exploring the subject with information from different websites and write my reflections on them.

Let's start with Wikipedia:

"The Ox ( 牛 ) is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. The Year of the Ox is denoted by the earthly branch character 丑. In the Vietnamese zodiac, the water buffalo occupies the position of the ox.

# 3 February 1973 - 22 January 1974: Water Ox

The Ox is the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. This powerful sign is a born leader, being quite dependable and possessing an innate ability to achieve great things. As one might guess, such people are dependable, calm, and modest. Like their animal namesake, the Ox is unswervingly patient, tireless in their work, and capable of enduring any amount of hardship without complaint."

Well I won't deny that I think of myself of a hard worker and I think I have achieved great things in my life so far (and hoping to achieve many more). I am not sure I am that calm and modest. I know that I have made really a lot of improvement in my quick temperament. I am a much more patient person (and teacher) that I was 5 years ago. And modest... hmm.. that's a hard one. I am Argentine, how you ever met a modest Argentine? :-)

Ready to teach, or am I?

Monday January 5th, 2009 school resumes and I was soooooo ready to go back. Just to find out that morning that I was not feeling well. Not sure what it was. I had a headache and a sore throat that I immediately attributed to the dry air in my apartment. I bought a new humidifier and I hope that helps. Just in case I am taking Tuesday off as well. Lots of liquids and resting. I wish I would say that I extended my holidays for two more days but I was really looking to go back to teaching! Oh well, patience.
Send healing thoughts!
